Let’s Finish Strong

Posted: December 2, 2013 in Uncategorized

This week I want to simply encourage you all to finish out the year in a strong way. In case you haven’t noticed, there is only one week left before exams! However before we head back home for Christmas, we have valuable time that we can use to make an eternal impact on someones life. It is so easy to get into an apathetic mindset when the semester is so close to being over. Let’s not get caught in that mindset. We need to have an eternal perspective where we see every day as an opportunity to make an everlasting difference in someones life.

This should also apply to the time that we have over break! The Christmas season will present you with many opportunities for evangelism. If your home church holds holiday events, use those as a jumping-off point to invite your friends and neighbors to church. These events draw in many visitors to church, and you should leap at the chance to be as welcoming as possible and give them a reason to come back. The Christmas season serves as a solid base to begin a spiritual conversation with anyone you talk to. Even though the gospel is not limited to holidays, they grant us an amazing chance to share the good news of Jesus with those around us.

As many of you know, we have the tacky sweater party this Sunday, December 8th, at 7:00 pm. We will be caroling from 6-7 and then the party starts immediately afterward. I encourage you all to join me in using this event as a invite opportunity! It’s going to be great event to invite someone to; it will be a very casual, chill event! Be thinking of someone you could invite. Remember, what’s the worst that can happen?

Merry Christmas from your Shandon College Leadership Team!
